This week's words are:
theatre, chess piece, ink
As I walked past the theatre, I saw a group of people huddled around something, piquing my curiosity. I edged closer and made out a chess piece inked in blue on a poster. Underneath was the date for next week. I walked away, even more curious. (46 words)

Re: Flash Fiction-Round 5
She walked around the darkened theatre, slowly and reverently, with tears in her eyes. Glancing down, she saw her ink-stained fingertips, rough and chapped with the labor in getting the props ready. The game was over, the chess pieces forfeited, checkmate. The end of an era, finery to rags. Checkmate! (50 words)

theatre, chess piece, ink
Improvisational theatre, so difficult to think of, yet oddly thrilling to perform. The knight, a chess piece performed by Stella, giddily twirled across the dance board, the lines delineated with a broad stroke of black ink on the wooden floorboards. (40 words)

Being part of the theatre prop department meant she had to get creative. When one of the black chess pieces went missing, she realized they only had a spare white one. With limited resources, she used black ink on the piece, coating it thick enough to deceive the upcoming audience. (50 words)

You feel like a chess piece, carried one room to another through immersive theatre. Masked performers in black, white, and silver spill like ink across a ballroom as you move diagonally to the farthest square, realizing you no longer know which side you belong to as a chandelier crashes behind. This week's words are:
ladder, vial, bounce
I balanced carefully on the ladder and stretched my arm out to the far shelf. I thought I had grabbed the vial successfully, but it slipped through my fingers. Thankfully it was a bouncing potion so no harm would be done as it fell to the floor. (47 words)

Grabbing the vial of poison with shaking hands, she climbed the ladder and hid it on the bookshelf. She would not use it...yet. Bouncing around scenarios in her head, she gave a grim smile and departed quietly. (50 words)
