All of a sudden, you realize that writing books is not just writing of books, but needing to figure out all kinds of things! Involving numbers! How did numbers get involved with the stringing of words put together to write a story ....
One Muggle online source says this when asked 'what finances are involved in the publishing of books':
"The finances of book publishing involve four main categories: creation (editing, cover design), production (printing, copyright fees), marketing (advertising, promotion), and distribution (shipping, warehousing). For traditional publishers, these costs are covered by the publisher, who recoups them through book sales and often pays authors an advance against future royalties. Self-publishing authors are responsible for all these costs themselves and earn a higher percentage of sales revenue."
So, you join in with the people at Flourish and Blotts and volunteer your services. But first, to your delight (or your dismay), they offer you a Math Square puzzle, to ascertain just how fascile you are with numbers.
Here is your Math Square puzzle.
