Short summary of the story: The story follows Darrow, who works as a miner on Mars as part of the efforts to make the planet habitable for further generations as Earth continues to die. Darrow is a Red within the color-coded society, which is the caste with the lowest status and the ones tending to Mars. However, he soon discovers that not everything is as it was described to the Reds. Fueled by his yearning for justice, Darrow takes action in hopes of bringing down the Gold ruling caste.

My review:
I had high hopes for this book, given how highly it's rated. It took a while for the plot to begin forming in a way I could piece it together as the reader, but when it did, it flowed well. My main criticism of the book is of the personalities of the characters, since I never really connected to them throughout the book, and found it hard to feel supportive of them because of it. Overall, it's a decent read that I would ultimately recommend, though with a warning for those who want their reading material to have more in-depth and relatable characters than this book entails.
