Venus - Astronomy

Post by Prof. Maxim Trevelyan »

Venus is the second planet from the Sun. Due to its similarity in size and structure to Earth, Venus has been called Earth's twin. Venus has a thick, toxic atmosphere filled with carbon dioxide and it is shrouded in thick, yellowish clouds. Interestingly, it is the hottest planet in our solar system, despite Mercury being closer to the sun.

While modern technology already allows us to see what lies on Venus' surface, some mystery is still surrounding the particulars of the environment. Venture out in nature or mayhap just look around your immediate area for something that would look like it could be a part of Venus’ geology. That could be your sidewalk, some red fabric, really anything.

Take a photo and post it below while including a sentence or two why you think this could be what Venus’ surface looks like. Abide by all HOL rules and do not include any identifying details in the photo, either about your RL identity or location.

Post your photos below (keep it 600x600 or less) by October 31st 11:59 pm HOL time to get 20 Hoots and 50 beans.
