In fact, eaven I can't pronounce my name, I guess. It's Russian name and I don't speak Russian so well. (They use those different letters...)
But I think "Dariya" is pronounced like "DAHR'-ya".

Da - like da in word "dad"
riy - like ri in word "river"
a - like a in word "cat",

And "Akimova"... Um... Well..

A - like a in word "cat".
kimova - just like you would say "kimova". (i maybe sounds little bit longer like "ii")

Let's see...

E (like ah or the 'a' in father)

ther (rhymes with fear)

i-(ee like in eel)

a-(same as the first e)

So basically it's

Ah-theer-ee-ah

I think Angel is pretty self explanatory /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

My first name is pretty self explanitory:

Ben- The big clock tower in London (lol /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />)

And my last name is kind of easy:

Ackerman

A (as in apple or ask)
cker (as in curly or handkercheif)
man (looks like man but it's said fast so it sounds like men)

My first name Morag is pronounced Mawrack (more or less anyway) and it's simply the Gaelic name for Sarah. McQueen is easy Mac-Queen.
This thread is a wonderful idea by the way /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Malien Clementielle wrote:I've seen a lot of interesting names here lately, and I have no idea how to pronounce half of them./wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Plus, there has been some confusion on how to pronounce my name *cough*Malien the Alien*cough*, so I just thought I'd clear that up.

First of all, my name does not rhyme with "alien." It sounds more like this:

Ma (rhymes with "pa" or "ah" or "la")
li (rhymes with "lee" or "see")
en (rhymes with "hen" or "pen")

So if I put it together, it sounds like Mah-lee-en. The stress is on the "mah."

Now, Clementielle is a whole other story. I wanted it to sound French, and part of the name is French so it sounds something like this:

Cle (sounds like the "re" in "ready" and it also sounds like the "e" in "bread", best representation is the "cle" in "cleft")

men (if you know French then you should know how it sounds, if you don't, then the closest sound I can give you is that it sounds like the "Mon" in Monty.)

tie (pronounced like "tee")

elle (rhymes with "bell")
So if I put this all together, it sounds like Cleh-mon-tee-ell.

So my full name is pronounced:
Mah-lee-en Cleh-mon-tee-ell

It's much easier to pronounce if you speak French.

Yeesh! This post was long. I hope I haven't confused anyone.../wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

So what do your names sound like?
heres how to pronounce my name. which by the way is Dawn Christensen.
Daw-sounds like the po in potter.
n-sounds like n /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
so it would sound like Daw-n
(like the guy version Don)
now for christensen. if you have ever heard of Hayden Christensen, ( the hot guy who plays anakin skywalker in starwars) then you know how to pronounce it. if not here is the pronunciation.
Chris-sounds like chrish
ten-sounds like tin
sen-sounds like sin

so it would be Chrish-tin-sin

full name: Daw-n Chrish-tin-sin
hope that helps you.

I know I've posted in this thread before....But all this bears repeating, since my name's, ehm, unique ;)

Hari - It's pronounced "Har-ee". *Never* "Hair-ee". Got it? ;)
Yes, it's actually an Indian guy's name. But I got it from a book, in which the main character was named Angharad, called Harry, and later called Hari. So I became Hari :)

O'Duibhleargain - Now, this one I'm not so picky about....
I say it this way: "Oh-dew-ib-hleer-gain." The "gain" is like again but without the a.
Other people say it should be pronounced "Oh-doov-lair-en".
So you know what, just try this one, but it is O'Duibhleargain. Not O'InsertSomethingCleverHere. ;)

(And also: I am a girl. In case you didn't realise. ;))

My name is really easy but just to be sure it is pronounced as follows:

Nha ("a" like cat)

Tah

Lee

Nha-Tah-Lee Natalie

Jaemz James

(That's the best way I could think of to pronounce my last name but its just like Harry's Dad's Name so it shouldn't be so hard)
