A message from Headmaster Dybendahl:
It is mandatory that all students sign up for the HOL newsletter. (Non-students may subscribe as well, just leave the student-ID field empty when you sign-up.) The newsletter will be sent out every 2-4 weeks to all members of HOL, with the first one coming out mid- or end of April. In addition, 1-2 editors from every House are needed for compiling the House section of the newsletter; please talk to your Head of House if you want to help. Details on how to submit paragraphs that should be included in the HOL Newsletter will be posted on the website soon. Everything that you would want all HOL students to know (Contests, Events, New Profs, New Prefects or any other Authorities, Class News, etc. etc.) can be submitted.
The newest lesson for the Care of Magical Creatures I class has been posted. It is due on Saturday, 27 April, at 10 PM GMT. If the lesson is completed and turned in 48 hours early, it will be worth 2 bonus points; correctly labeling the assignment with one's HOL name and student ID is worth 5 points. More information can be found here.
James Gredbank, HOL's Head Librarian, wishes to announce the Marauder's Essay Contest! Entries must be submitted by 30 April, 2002; points will be awarded. For more information, please see this post on the main HOL forum.
Prof. DeLaCour wishes to announce the formation of the J.K. Rowling Appreciation Committee. The committee will plan activities throughout the year to honour Ms. Rowling and her work. For more information, please see this post on the main HOL fourm.

Announcing an HOL Special Seminar: The Magic Behind Quidditch - Referee and Player Training! This seminar is open to all students of HOL that have the time to
devote to it. All professors/staff are encouraged to take this course (audit). You may complete both player and referee training. Referees will complete all lessons; players only those lessons that pertain to them. Students that are already on House teams should take the full referee training. J. Azrael Prufrock has taken over the Arithmancy class; Professor Callidus is unfortunately unable to continue teaching the course. All Arithmancy students should read the announcement made on the classes board; existing students who wish to continue with the class and new students who wish to enroll are asked to visit the new class page and sign up.
