Headmaster Dybendahl is on vacation until 5 August 2002. Please contact any Prefect for student issues and any member of the HOL Headoffice for professor / teaching issues.
Incoming students who cannot wait to get sorted may try on the Sorting Hat in his absence. Misuse of the Hat (e.g., trying it more than once, or trying it for fun) will result in a loss of at least 5 House points. (Having legitimate technical problems, etc., will not result in any points loss.) Current students may not try on the Sorting Hat for entertainment purposes.
If you do not yet have a student-ID, you will need to first register your HOL name. You will not receive your student-ID until the second week of August, but you can put "NEW" in the "Student-ID" field when trying on the Sorting Hat. If your registration was valid, your Sorting Hat test will count.

The forum is back, and has been moved to a new server. (Three cheers for the Headmaster!) Very few posts were lost, as a back-up had been made just prior to the database going down.
Also, HOL will be receiving new domain: http://hol.org.uk/, which should be up and running by mid-week. The http://holnet.de.vu/ address is still working, however, and will continue to do so in future.

Headmaster Dybendahl has posted a correction to the exam candidates list:
If you have joined HOL late, you were not on the original classes list - so you are not on the exams list as well. So if you joined HOL from September to December 2001 and if you were signed up for a class where you could not make a final exam, then you are invited to take the HOL Exam as well. If you send in your exam, please add the class you were signed up for!! ... The 3rd digit of your student-ID must be a "2" (like ab200), this indicates that your joined after Sep 1st, 2001.
If you joined HOL in 2002, and you did not get into a class then, you can't become a Second Year! If you dropped all your classes, because you've been busy or lazy or whatever, you can NOT take the HOL exam as a replacement for class work - it is meant only for giving every student a fair chance.
Prof. Prufrock has posted the exam results for the Arithmancy class.
Prof. Pradipta will be on holiday from 4 July to 7 July.
