Scientists at the Ministry invent Dark Mark Detector

A new tool designed to make the Dark Mark glow obviously on Death Eaters, even when concealed by clothing, is being heralded as an invaluable instrument by the Magical Law Enforcement Division of the Ministry of Magic. It is also, however, raising numerous eyebrows. Many seem to view the invention as a grievous violation of human rights, as those who declare that they no longer follow He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named cry out in outrage.

St. Mungo's - running out of room

The massive six-floor hospital with floors dedicated to small illnesses and accidents such as rashes and poorly applied jinxes that have caused a broken finger to serious illnesses like dragon pox and major incidents such as serious bites, is running out of room. A run of Death Eater incidents has caused a serious influx of the wounded to flood to St. Mungo's and some remain there for weeks. Some wards from other departments of the hospital have had to be transferred to the Spell Damage Department.

French Ministry will Back The British Ministry

In a news conference called yesterday, the British Minister of Magic, Rufus Scrimgeour, announced that the rumours of an alliance with the French Ministry of Magic are true. The French Ministry is totally supportive of the British Ministry's intent to eliminate He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and his Death Eater followers and intends to implement whatever changes are necessary to achieve that result.

Security tightens again at Beauxbatons

The news of Lord Voldemort's return has meant even tighter security for Beauxbatons, according to the school's Headmistress. Additional Aurors have been brought in to patrol the school, said Madame Olympe Maxime. Some will be under Invisibility Cloaks while others will use a variety of Transformation spells.

The Wireless Wizard Moving-Picture

Gilbert Wimple, of the Committee on Experimental Charms (Communication section), announced last Monday that the Wireless Wizarding Moving-Picture—also known as WWMP—should become real in a couple of years. Mr. Wimble explained that this new device, now in a developmental stage, will make possible not only audio communication as we are used with Wireless Wizard Radio, but image communication, all at the same time, in long-reach transmissions.

The controversy over Analesca's new play "Did I Have a Choice?" has sparked heated discussion among fans, critics, and protestors. The play portrayed a young Death Eater’s role during the rise and fall of You-Know-Who. It analyzed the mind of a Death Eater and touched upon many questionable topics: among them the role of the general public and their outlook on the dark arts.
