Summary

Scarlett and Lucas Hawkins never planned to have a child considering their dangerous line of work. They were both Aurors of the Ministry of Magic, often working undercover to catch the traitors who crossed over to the dark side. This meant a lot of enemies, since they were two of the best Aurors of their time and had caught a lot of dangerous dark wizards. They used to work as partners before they fell in love with each other and, after repeatedly considering it, finally decided to get married. When they eventually realized they wanted a child, they both resigned from their positions.

The Hawkins couple moved from London to York, hoping to start their new family safely in a smaller town. They also changed their names to Angela and James Hathaway in hopes of erasing their traces from their ever-lurking enemies, constantly seeking for revenge. All this time it was easy for them to protect themselves, but they feared for their future baby’s life dearly. It looked like the Ministry had done a nice job of covering their tracks since for years they lived in peace and quiet, undisturbed by any malicious acts. Two years after their fresh start in York, their daughter, Jenna Angelique Hathaway was born. Her parents, now used to the much safer life as Muggles (they decided not to use magic at all anymore in order not to attract their enemies’ attention and potentially blowing their cover), did the unthinkable and tried to bind their daughter’s magical powers so they wouldn’t manifest. They hoped she would grow up like a normal girl in a normal family without ever having to deal with magic because the Muggle world seemed like a safer world.

She grew up as a normal girl indeed. Until her eleventh birthday, in which several events happened at once. The family was attacked in the middle of the night by a couple of dark wizards who tried to kidnap Jenna. Her powers must’ve been too strong for her parents’ binding spell because in the moment of great danger they manifested. Her raw powers were still weak, but enough to knock down one of them and awoken her parents. They managed to save her, and that was the night when Jenna learned who her parents really were. They were not Angela and James Hathaway, an architect and a teacher, but Scarlett and Lucas Hawkins, former Aurors for the Ministry of Magic.

Of course her parents only wanted to protect her by raising her as a normal girl. But she wanted to embrace who she is. Her letter from Hogwarts came the next day and she begged them to let her go. They finally realized Hogwarts might be the safest place for her. Finally after a big discussion they reluctantly agreed. Jenna joined HOL in Spring 2006. She had some trouble adjusting at first and only managed to pass 3 out of her 4 classes, and didn't even take a fifth class. However, since she passed First Year, she's back to her dedicated self and is determined to get as many points as possible to make up for first term. She absolutely loves the magical world. She has always been a dreamer and this is like a dream come true. She tries her best to excel at her classes not only because she's ambitious but also because she's very passionate about learning all the new stuffs. Of course Ravenclaw decided to take her under her wing because of this desire for knowledge. Her goal is to be an Auror like her parents. She knows they’ll strongly disagree with this, which is why she hasn’t told them yet. She hopes someday they’ll understand.

She's usually occupied with her stack of books in the library, and you probably won’t find her often in the field or hanging out with her friends. But she does socialize, as much as she can. She's got some awesome friends by joining several clubs and activities in Hogwarts. Maybe it’s in her blood, but it’s her nature not to trust people easily. It’s hard for her to get close and open up to others. She constantly has doubts about them, perhaps because of her experience with her parents’ attempt to hide the truth from her. This is a weakness she hopes to fix somehow, little by little. All of her friends have just been great and she feels that it’s not fair that she's building this wall to keep them out. One day she's going to break those walls down.

Now that Jenna knows the truth about her family, her other reason for studying so hard is because she wants to be able to help them protect their family. Whenever she has the chance she would learn new spells just so when an attack happens again, their enemies would think twice before they try to hurt her or her parents another time. If they were lucky to have another time, that is. As far as she's concerned, there are three of them now, and that doesn’t mean one new burden for her parents to constantly protect, but an addition of a future Auror that can make them a force to be reckoned with.

Jenna loves art, which is why she joined the Writing Society to improve her skills in writing poems and stories. She also loves to make drawings and anything involving graphics. She's not really chatty in the Common Rooms, but she's trying to make friends and socialize more. One of her attempts to get more friends is by joining HOL Pen Pal Club at January 2007. Now she's gotten her first official position in HOL as an assistant in the PPC, head of the Graphic Design Team.
