Re: What Classes Do You Want To See Happen This Year Coming Up?
Chess or wizards chess for beginners would be cool. Also the Alchemy class was so interesting it would be fab if there was an Alchemy 2 class for those who want to continue with the subject. This year I admit I was a little disappointed not to see the Auror training class available, I was looking fo...

Idioms
As any witch or wizard who has experienced the Muggle world will tell you, when it comes to language, Muggles use some strange idioms. However, Muggles are not the only ones; sometimes wizarding communities use their own magical idioms that are an alternative to the ones used by Muggles. For example...

Re: HOL Goals 2023/2024
My goals are: * To somehow gain a bit of spare time so I can teach a class again. * To hopefully, and finally, learn how to resize images so I can submit images to the Art Department. * To get through as many activities as I can for Octoberfest. * To work extra hard at my Owls- after all you only do ...

43 juicy beans are going to Prof Sindor Aloyarc for planting the beanstalk seed a few summers ago, to Emily Spencer for taking over the beanstalk, continuing to keep it growing.

Re: Favorite Summer Sport
The summer always means that tennis is not far away. Sadly, I don't actually play the game myself ( though I would love to have a go) but I sometimes get to watch Wimbledon on TV.

Re: Come thank your elves
Thank you so much, Secret Elf for the beautiful photos of your animals, they put such a big smile on my face , and I'm really looking forward to doing the puzzles.
Thanks also to Alexander and Amy for organising the Secret Elf this year - it was so good to see it back again.

Re: Characterful Categories
Moriarty from the Sherlock Holmes stories has sprung to mind. He always gets revenge on those who cross him and he has such smart and ingenious revengeful ideas that many people don't realise that he is behind them.

Most likely to win a pie-eating contest
Mr Bumble, from Charles Dicken's Oliver Twist, could easily win this competition because he has such a big appetite, and I think he would enjoy the competition all the more knowing that the children residing in his workhouse wouldn't be eating any pies.

Re: Characterful Categories
Most likely to disappear for a month would be the Bingley Sisters from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice; they will go away for as long as they need to keep their brother, Charles, away from women they feel are an unsuitable marriage match for him.
Re: Book talk
Too many amazing books around to be able to decide which is my absolute favourite. (Thank goodness I'm not being shipwrecked on an island and can only have one book with me- it would be a nightmare. ) Some I absolutely love and re- read are: Le Morte D'Arthur~Thomas Malory Sir Gawain and the Green K...

If I want an easy, light read then my 'go to' is the Worst Witch Series. If I want a page turner then it' s Dan Brown' s Da Vinci Code Series- I just can't get enough of them!

Best Dress Sense
I can't help but think of Mary Poppins. She always looks respectable and dresses so neatly that her attire would be suitable for going almost anywhere that required the smart, casual sort of look.

I would be super excited if Ann Radcliffe had been able to do a version of Henry James's Turn of the Screw.
