Post by Viviana Kingston »

Title: Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares
Authors: Rachel Cohn & David Levithan
Genre: Christmas story, fiction
Rating: 5/5
Page count: 288 pages (physical book)
Category: traditional publishing, first in series
Age rating: 9+
Warnings: mild kissing
Synopsis:
When Lily’s older brother, Langston, gives her a notebook and a crazy idea, Lily (a Christmas lover) finds herself travelling all across New York with a boy she’s yet to meet as they pass the notebook back and forth brimmed with dares and secrets during the festive season.

Comments + opinion:
This book has always been a favourite of mine since I was younger. It’s the perfect read (or reread in my case) for Christmas that will warm your heart and wish you had yourself a red notebook to exchange with a mysterious stranger. It has some of my favourite Christmas elements: a sunshine girl x grumpy boy troupe, a Christmas fanatic and a Grinch (I wonder if Dash was actually inspired by the Grinch) and a cute romance for all ages! It’s timeless in other words and should be a classic.
