One of the most pronounced return scenes that I can think of takes place at the end of The Hobbit, where the hobbit Bilbo Baggins returns from his adventure back to Bag End in the Shire. Even if Bilbo's reputation had suffered among his own kind due to his adventure, I would say that he qualifies as a "master of two worlds" at the end of the book: both his own hobbit world (as he remained very comfortable at Bag End after reclaiming and purchasing most of his belongings back, and even was able to be a respected patriarch for his nephews and nieces) and the "world" of dwarves and elves and wizards where his adventure had resided. After all, Bilbo was still considered an "elf-friend" for the remainder of his days - and managed to stay in contact with the world of his adventures: between visiting elves and even entertaining the wizard Gandalf and the dwarf Balin at the very end of the book!
