Columnist Application

Post by Aurelia West »

Welcome and many thanks for your interest in becoming a regular columnist!

Before applying for a column, please consider the topic you intend to write about and whether it would be best presented in installments via a column or whether it can be consolidated into a single article.

To apply for writing a column, please present your idea to the editors via an email or private message. Once the idea is approved you can write your first entry for your column. When that is approved it will be published in the next issue and has received final approval. You will not need to ask to write for it every single issue, though of course we would appreciate it if you let us know when you intend to submit it.

The Howler is currently accepting columns centered on any topic that you would like to write about, providing it is HOL appropriate. Send the editors a message today! Make sure to include "Columnist Application" somewhere in the subject line.

As a guide for your message, consider including the following:
• The topic you would like to write about
• How you plan to present it in installments or the format it may take (if you tackle a different idea each article)
• Tentative names you would like to consider for your column (If you need assistance in titling your column, we are always willing to help brainstorm)
